Your profile

Your profile is where you manage how you appear in Packr and how your account works: your name, a short bio, your avatar, your password, and whether Packr emails you a copy of your notifications. This page is for everyone.

Overview

From your own user page you can:

  • Edit your First Name, Last Name, and Bio.
  • Change your profile photo, including generating one with Pax (Packr AI).
  • Change your password, with a strength meter to guide you.
  • Turn on Forward notifications to my email for the workspace you're in.
  • See the current App Version.

To open your profile, go to the Directory, open Users, and select your own name. Your profile shows extra controls (like Change Photo and Notifications) that don't appear when you're viewing someone else.

Update your name or bio

Your name and bio appear next to your activity across Packr.

  1. Open your profile from Directory -> Users -> your name.
  2. In the User Information card, edit First Name and/or Last Name.
  3. Edit Bio to add a short description of yourself (up to 500 characters; a counter shows how many you've used).
  4. There's no Save button — changes save automatically a moment after you stop typing.

Note

Username and Email Address are read-only on this screen and can't be edited here. First and last name are required, so a blank name won't save until you fill it in.

Change your profile photo

Your avatar shows as a photo if you've set one, or your initials if you haven't.

  1. Open your profile and select Change Photo.
  2. In Change Profile Photo, choose one of:
  3. Upload Photo — choose an image from your device.
  4. Generate with Pax — have Packr AI create an avatar for you.
  5. After uploading or generating, your new photo replaces the old one. Select the avatar later to view it full screen.

Generate an avatar with Pax

If you'd rather not upload a photo, Pax (Packr AI) can create a unique avatar from a description.

  1. Select Change Photo -> Generate with Pax.
  2. On the Create with Pax screen, describe what you'd like your avatar to look like in the text box. You can leave it blank and Pax will surprise you with something creative.
  3. Select Create Avatar and wait while Pax generates it.
  4. On Your New Avatar, review the result:
  5. Select Try Again to generate a different one.
  6. Select Use This Photo to save it as your avatar.

Tip

A specific prompt gives a more predictable result — for example, the colors, style, and any accessories you want. You can always Try Again until you're happy.

Change your password

You can change your own password at any time from your profile.

  1. Open your profile and, in the Quick Actions card, select Reset Password.
  2. In New Password, type a new password. A strength meter and a checklist appear as you type, showing the requirements:
  3. At least 8 characters
  4. One uppercase letter
  5. One lowercase letter
  6. One number
  7. One special character
  8. Re-type it in Confirm Password. An indicator confirms when the two passwords match.
  9. Select Reset Password to save. The button stays disabled until every requirement is met and both fields match.

Admin only

Workspace and Packr admins can also reset another person's password from that user's profile using the same Reset Password action. Resetting a password for someone else requires the user-administration permission.

Forward notifications to your email

You can have Packr email you a copy of every in-app notification you receive. This setting is per workspace, so you can enable it in one workspace and leave it off in another.

  1. Open your profile and find the Notifications card (it appears only on your own profile).
  2. Turn on Forward notifications to my email.
  3. Packr confirms the change. To stop the emails, turn the toggle off again.

The description on the toggle reads "Get an email copy of every notification you receive in this workspace." To change which events you're notified about in the first place, see Following and mutes.

Find the app version

The App Version is shown at the bottom of your own profile, next to an info icon (for example, v2.0.2). Quote this number when you contact support so they know exactly which version you're on. See Getting help.

Common questions

How do I change my profile photo? Open your profile from Directory -> Users -> your name, select Change Photo, then either Upload Photo to pick an image from your device or Generate with Pax to have Packr AI create one.

How do I generate an AI avatar? Select Change Photo -> Generate with Pax, describe the avatar (or leave it blank), select Create Avatar, then choose Use This Photo to keep it or Try Again for a new one.

How do I change my password? On your profile, select Reset Password in the Quick Actions card. Enter and confirm a new password that meets all the listed requirements, then select Reset Password.

Why is the Reset Password button greyed out? The button stays disabled until your new password meets every requirement (length, uppercase, lowercase, number, special character) and the Confirm Password field matches it exactly.
