Meet Pax¶
Available to all roles
Pax is available to everyone in your workspace. What Pax can do on your behalf depends on your role and brand access.
Pax (Packr AI) is your built-in assistant inside Packr. Ask it questions about your orders, tasks, inventory, and warehouse data in plain language, or have it take action on your behalf. Pax is available to everyone in your workspace.

Overview¶
Pax answers questions and helps you get work done without leaving the page you're on. With Pax you can:
- Ask about an order, a task, a shipment, or stock levels and get a direct answer.
- Look things up using everyday wording instead of menus and filters.
- Take quick actions on orders and shipments (for example, escalate an order or update a shipping address) when you have permission.
- Pick up where you left off, since your conversations are saved.
Pax draws on your workspace's data and your Knowledge articles, so its answers reflect your own brands, orders, and notes. See Knowledge.
Open Pax¶
You can open Pax from anywhere in Packr. It slides out as a panel so you can keep working alongside it.
- On the web or desktop, select the Pax AI button (the sparkle icon) in the top header. The panel opens on the right.
- On mobile, tap the sparkle button in the bottom bar.
- To close Pax, select the close (X) at the top of the panel, or tap the sparkle button again.
When you open Pax for the first time in a session, you'll see a short welcome and a set of Pax Actions quick-start buttons. Selecting one starts a conversation for that task.

Ask Pax a question¶
Type your question into the message box at the bottom of the panel and send it. Pax replies in the same panel, and may include cards for the specific orders, shipments, or items it found.
- Open Pax using the sparkle button (in the top header on web, or in the bottom bar on mobile).
- Type your request in the Type a message... box.
- Send your message and read Pax's reply. Follow up with another message to refine or dig deeper.
You can ask about orders, tasks, and warehouse (WMS) questions, such as where an order is, why it hasn't shipped, or how much of a SKU is on hand. For phrasing tips and more examples, see Asking questions.
Phrase your request well¶
Pax understands natural, conversational requests. A few habits get you better answers:
- Be specific. Include the order number, SKU, brand, or task name when you have it.
- Say what you want to know or do. "Where is order 10432?" or "Put order 10432 on hold."
- One thing at a time. Ask a focused question, then follow up rather than stacking several asks into one message.
- Use your own words. You don't need exact field names — "warehouse" and "WMS" both work, and "ticket" works for a task.
Take action with Pax¶
Beyond answering questions, Pax can carry out certain operational steps for you and show the result inline. Depending on your permissions and the order, Pax can help you escalate an order, update a shipping address, manage holds, change the carrier, cancel an order, record a shipping error, and update line items, as well as work with inbound shipments.
Operators
Some actions — like canceling an order or managing holds — depend on your role and brand access. If an action isn't available to you, Pax will let you know instead of performing it. Cancelling an order asks you to confirm first.
For the full list of what Pax can do and how confirmations work, see Taking actions.
Find a past conversation¶
Pax saves your conversations so you can return to earlier questions and answers. You can reopen, rename, and remove past chats. See Conversation history for details.
Tips¶
Tip
Open Pax while you're on a page like the Brand Work Desk or an order, then ask about what you're looking at — you don't have to copy details into the message.
Note
Pax only sees the workspace you're currently in and the brands you have access to. Switch workspaces if you expect data from a different one.
