What is Packr¶
Packr is a multi-brand operations platform for 3PLs and the brands they serve. It brings your warehouse data, tasks, knowledge, and an AI assistant together in one place so everyone works from the same source of truth. This page explains the core pieces and how they fit together.

Who can use this
This overview applies to all roles. Everyone in Packr works inside a workspace, and what you can see and do is scoped to that workspace and the brands assigned to you. A few setup tasks — such as connecting a WMS, creating brands, and inviting members — are admin only and are flagged inline below.
Overview¶
Packr is built for both sides of a fulfillment relationship. A 3PL operator runs warehouse operations across many brands from a single workspace, while brand users see only their own orders, inventory, and inbound shipments. Whatever your role, your view is always scoped to your workspace and the brands assigned to you.
With Packr you can:
- Review orders, shipping errors, inventory, and inbound shipments synced from your WMS.
- Create and track work as Tasks (think tickets or a shared to-do list).
- Ask Pax, the Packr AI assistant, questions or have it take actions.
- Store reference material in Knowledge.
- Collaborate in channels, threads, and notes, and collect customer Feedback.
Understand workspaces¶
A workspace is the top-level container for your team and everything in it. All your brands, orders, tasks, knowledge, people, and settings live inside a workspace, and data never crosses between workspaces.
You may belong to more than one workspace (for example, if you work with multiple 3PLs). When you do, a workspace switcher appears at the bottom of the sidebar. Switching workspaces changes your brands, notifications, and Pax history to match the workspace you are in.
See Workspaces and Setting up a workspace.
Understand brands¶
A brand is a business unit or client you work with inside a workspace. A 3PL workspace typically has many brands; a single brand's team sees just their own.
On the Directory screen, brands are labeled Group — you'll see Create new group, the GROUP column, and Group Admins. "Group" is just the Directory's on-screen label for a brand; the two mean the same thing. Throughout the rest of Packr (and this documentation) the term is brand.
Pin your most-used brands so they appear in the sidebar for one-click access. See Brands and Managing brands.
Work from the Brand Work Desk (your Home)¶
The Brand Work Desk is where most day-to-day work happens. Its sidebar label is Home, and it is the page you land on after signing in. (The older "Support" and "My Brands" names now redirect here.)
Open a brand from the Brand Work Desk to see everything about it in one focused view: its conversation channels alongside dashboard sections such as Open Tasks, Threads, Orders on Hold, Orders on Backorder, Open Inbound Shipments, Unreviewed Shipping Errors, Knowledge, and a Timeline of activity.
See Brand Work Desk and Working a brand.
Know your role and permissions¶
Packr uses roles and permissions to control who can see and do what. Your role determines which actions and screens are available to you, and your brand access determines which brands' data you can see.
Admin only
Some setup tasks — connecting a WMS, creating brands, and inviting members — are limited to workspace or 3PL admins. Admin-only steps are flagged inline throughout this documentation.
Brand users see only the brands assigned to them, while admin roles can work across the whole workspace. See Roles and permissions and Members and invites.
Connect your WMS (ShipHero)¶
Packr connects to your warehouse system — your WMS, such as ShipHero — so orders, inventory, and inbound shipments stay synced. Once connected, everyone with brand access reviews the same up-to-date data.
Admin only
Connecting a WMS is an admin-only task. An admin uses Connect WMS, then Connect to ShipHero, on the integrations screen — set up once per workspace.
After your WMS is connected, use the warehouse areas to review orders, resolve shipping errors, monitor stock, and track incoming goods. See the Warehouse (WMS) overview, Connecting your WMS, and Syncing and freshness.
Meet Pax, the Packr AI assistant¶
Pax is the Packr AI assistant. Open it from the sparkle button in the top bar to ask about your orders, inventory, and shipments in plain language, or to have it take actions on your behalf.
- Select the Pax button in the top bar.
- Type a question, such as "How many orders are on hold for this brand?"
- Review the answer, then continue the conversation or ask Pax to take an action.
Pax only sees the data your role and brand access allow. See Asking Pax questions and Taking actions with Pax.
Store reference material in Knowledge¶
Knowledge is where your team keeps reference material so Packr (and Pax) can draw on it. Knowledge has two parts: Context articles you write, and Drive files you upload. Brand-specific knowledge also appears in the Knowledge section of that brand's Brand Work Desk.
See Knowledge, Context articles, and Drive.
How the pieces fit together¶
Here is the big picture: you sign in to a workspace, which contains your brands. Your role and brand access decide what you can see and do. Your WMS (such as ShipHero) keeps orders, inventory, and inbound shipments synced into each brand. You manage that work from the Brand Work Desk (your Home), track follow-ups as Tasks, store reference material in Knowledge, and ask Pax for answers or actions — all scoped to the brands assigned to you.

Common questions¶
What is a workspace? A workspace is the top-level container for your team. All your brands, orders, tasks, knowledge, people, and settings live inside it, and data never crosses between workspaces. If you belong to more than one, switch using the workspace switcher at the bottom of the sidebar. See Workspaces.
What is a brand? A brand is a business unit or client you work with inside a workspace. (The Directory labels a brand as a Group — same thing.) See Brands.
What can Packr do for me? Packr lets you review WMS orders, inventory, shipping errors, and inbound shipments, manage tasks, store knowledge, collect feedback, collaborate with your team, and ask the Pax AI assistant for answers or actions — all in one workspace, scoped to your brands.
Is Packr for 3PLs or for brands? Both. A 3PL operator runs many brands from one workspace, while brand users see only their own data. Your access is always scoped to your workspace and assigned brands.
Where do I start? Sign in and you land on the Brand Work Desk (the Home page). Read Signing in & your account and Navigating Packr, then open a brand to begin. For Packr terms, see the Glossary.
